So you like stories about contract killers? Me too.
This happened a couple of weeks ago, but I thought it was worth mentioning because of the fact that it involved a Russian assassin, Kalashnikovs, grenades and a serious shootout. Better yet, it was caught on video.
Here’s the story, from the Kyiv Post:
Police storm criminal hideout in Odesa killing two during dramatic shootout
Ukrainian police stormed a building in Odesa (Odessa) on Oct. 1, killing two suspected criminals who had barricaded themselves in the building after one day earlier having killed two police officers and injured four, Ukrainian law enforcement authorities said.
According to eye witness reports, a dramatic shootout broke out. Rapid machine gunfire was heard for minutes along with explosions at the scene.
The house is located in thePrymorsky district of Odesa. Police encircled the house after learning that the criminals were hiding out there one day after clashing with police officers.
An eye witness filmed the standoff and posted the video on YouTube.
According to earlier reports, the criminals hiding out in the house took part in a shootout one day earlier in Odesa region, where they killed two police officers and injured four.
One of the attackers — killed by police on Oct. 1 — has been identified as Aslan Dykaev, 28, a citizen of Russia, who is suspected of murder.
According to operative information, Dykaev lived in Odesa illegally and committed contract killings. The police found that out when they investigated the killing of two men in the village of Baranitsy, Zakarpattia region, on June 29, 2011.
Operatives determined that the car had been used by the criminal. His black VAZ 2110 was sighted not far from Odesa. The car was stopped by a traffic police officer near the village of Koshary. The special task police, Berkut, began the operation to detain the man. Dykaev threw three grenades at them and started shooting with a TT pistol, and the passenger in the front seat opened fire with a Kalashnikov rifle. A Berkut special task police officer wounded the man with the Kalashnikov rifle. However, the third criminal managed to drag the wounded man back into the car and the car drove away.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Sept. 30 met with law enforcement officials to discuss the incident.
Yanukovych called for tough measures to neutralize the murderer and two of his accomplices who had offered armed resistance.
Here’s the video:
Wow! Russian assassin, contract killer, good-guys vs bad-guys, machine gunfire & grenades?! My gosh, this sounds like something right out of “The American” movie starring George Clooney. The video is pretty scary, knowing its the real thing and no stuntmen faking the hits – whoa! Nice coverage, my son.
