Ukraine’s only rival in the bid for EuroBasket 2015 withdrew today, citing concerns of the bidding process.
The country’s only competition – a joint bid by France, Germany, Italy and Croatia – said in a joint statement today posted on the Web site of the France Basketball Federation that the decision was made “because of the huge doubts about the professionalism and lack of confidence in the review process of the bid led by the European Basketball Federation, FIBA Europe.”
A vote will be held Dec. 18 in Munich to select a country to host EuroBasket 2015. I’d say Ukraine’s got a damn good shot at a win here.
